Justice in Love (2011) by Nicholas Wolterstorff

When

I started reading this about a year ago.

Why

A great colleague and co-author [Comics and Citizenship (2023)], Mark Killian, recommended I look into Nicholas Wolterstorff’s scholarship while working on my paper exploring law and morality within Daredevil narratives. I was looking for Christian perspectives concerning the relationship between law and morality, a theme Wolterstorff takes up in many ways.

How

This book takes a deep dive into the notion of justice, from the lenses of both secular and biblical morality. As such, it has been helpful in my approach to X-Men narratives in an in-progress paper exploring the nature of (meta)physical, social, and psychological beliefs in Grant Morrison’s New X-Men run.
