Psychological Statistics (Fall)

  • The purpose of the course is for students to learn the basic principles of psychological research with an emphasis on hypothesis testing.

    1. Understand the basic principles of psychological research and hypothesis testing.

    2. Apply this information to various psychological research questions.

    1. Encouraging students approach research and math-related questions with confidence.

    2. Showing students the many ways that statistics principles inform everyday decisions.

  • Viewing statistics as a problem solving or decision making tool reveals its wide-ranging applicability. Thus, every domain of life (e.g., familial, educational, recreational, professional) is informed by some principle underlying probability and hypothesis testing.

    1. Finding more ways for students to interact with and teach each other in class.

    2. Finding more ways to highlight the course’s everyday applicability.
