Senior Thesis (Fall)

  • The purpose of the course is for students to leverage their previous knowledge and experiences in prior psychology courses to develop a thorough literature review and research proposal.

    1. Develop a research question with potential to make a unique contribution to the field of psychology.

    2. Write a thorough literature review and research proposal based on the question.

    3. Present the literature review and the research proposal at the undergraduate psychology conference.

    • Seeing students take an interesting research question and turn into a literature review and research proposal that adds value to the discipline.

    • Seeing students’ horizons expand when it comes to what kinds of questions psychological research can address.

    • For future practitioners, the course helps students see the immense role sound research plays in serving others to the best of our ability.

    • For future researchers, the course provides a good research-centric foundation they can build on in their relevant graduate school courses and activities.

  • Balancing what parts of the course are (fully) graded and which ones are more developmental.
